Our Story
Richard “Lynn” Miller started Just Plane Decor LLC in 2006 as a way to celebrate aviation by creating airplane related house decor such as lamps, keyholders, clocks and so much more. In 2022, Lynn teamed up with his grandson, Matthew, and the two began building new types of furniture and decor that everyone can enjoy.

Today, our mission at Just Plane Decor is to craft elegant, unique and visually stunning furniture and decor that enhance the lives and homes of our customers. We believe that the most important part of woodcraft is amplifying the natural beauty of the wood that we use. To accomplish this, we primarily use timeless, strong designs and clear or natural finishes that highlight the unique patterns and colors found in all of our pieces. Here At Home
As a small, Colorado-based business, Just Plane Decor LLC is proud to use locally harvested wood in many of our projects. We currently specialize in using Beetle Kill Pine harvested here in northern Colorado. This wood receives its name from the Mountain Pine Beetle, which swept through Colorado in the early 2000’s and left millions of dead trees in their wake. The beetles also infected these trees with a blue fungus that stained their wood and gave them each distinct colors and patterns. We are excited to use this wood not only because of its unique look but also because harvesting these trees helps clean up our forests and removes fuel for the large forest fires that have ravaged our state in recent years. We believe it is important to help our family, friends, and neighbors across the state by removing these trees and using them to create something that is beautiful rather than destructive.
Our Warranty
Just Plane Decor LLC uses wood grown and harvested in Colorado in a majority of our products. The weather conditions in our state, combined with the impact that the Mountain Pine Beetle had on these trees, means that each of our pieces may have unique characteristics including small checks, holes, beetle trails, and differences in color and grain pattern. These are natural aspects of the wood, and should not be considered defects. Also, because each piece is different, characteristics such as color, grain pattern, etc., cannot be guaranteed. Specific items listed in our shop will come as they are pictured, but made-to-order items such as furniture cannot perfectly replicate pictured items.

Just Plane Decor LLC uses high quality finishes that are applied by hand to each of our pieces. The nature of the wood we use means that there may be small variances in the feel or sheen of the finish on each piece. Like the other natural characteristics of wood, these variances should not be viewed as defects.

The handmade furniture and decor that we build is very different from similar machine-made items. Our pieces may include joint lines, varying textures, unique live edges, brush strokes, minor warping, and other unique features. The wood in our furniture may expand and contract based on temperature and humidity. These characteristics are hallmarks of handcrafted wood items, and should not be viewed as defects. We understand that these characteristics aren’t for everyone, and encourage those uninterested in these characteristics to not purchase handcrafted furniture.

Our team at Just Plane Decor LLC designs and builds each of our pieces with the utmost care and dedication. However, we understand that sometimes a piece may not be exactly what you were expecting. Just Plane Decor LLC accepts returns for any reason within 90 days of purchase. If you believe your piece contains a defect not listed above, please contact us to discuss return or repair options.
